Soil Texture
Soil Geomorphology by Raymond B. Daniels, Provides readers with the fundamentals necessary for a basic understanding of the soil landscape. Divided into three major sections, it covers stratigraphy, geomorphology, hydrology, and the ways in which these geologic processes shape the landscape. Early chapters cover the textural characteristics of soil materials, fluvial systems, hillslope sediments and transitional environments. Later chapters explore volcanics, saprolite, the evolutionary process of landscapes, rates of denudation, streams, hillslope processes and mass movement. Included at the end of the chapters are lists of references, figures, tables and additional reading sources.
Great Flowering Landscape Shrubs With stunning color photos throughout, this gardening guide describes more than 50 types of the best flowering shrubs and details their use in home landscaping. Shrubs are arranged by genus, separated into deciduous flowering and notable evergreen shrubs, and listed with the common name; size and shape; foliage color, shape, and texture; flower and fruit (if any); soil, nutrient, and light needs; pruning needs for maximum growth and/or flower; and USDA Hardiness Zones. Details of specific species, cultivars, and varieties that lead to exceptional size, color, flower, hardiness, and durability are also included. Helpful hints on soil types, watering, pest control, and pruning explore how best to plant and care for any shrub. The appendix includes lists of nurseries, web sites for further information, and an extensive index and bibliography.
Soil texture classification - Soil texture represents the relative composition of sand, silt and clay in soil. Unified Soil Classification System - The Unified Soil Classification System (or USCS) is used in engineering, geology and soil science disciplines to describe the texture, grain size, and the shear strength of a soil. The classification system can be applied to most unconsolidated materials, and is represented by a two-letter symbol. Soil type - In terms of soil texture, Soil type usually refers to the different sizes of mineral particles in a particular sample. Soil is made up in part of finely ground rock particles, grouped according to size as sand, silt, and clay. Liming - Liming is the application of calcium to soil in various forms, including marl, chalk, limestone, or hydrated lime. This neutralises soil, improves texture, and increases activity of soil bacteria.

Earthworms are hermaphrodites (both female and male organs within the same individual) but cannot fertilize their own eggs. Divided into three major sections, it covers stratigraphy, geomorphology, hydrology, and the Carolinas. The haplotaxids have been traditionally considered microdriles.
